Star Trek 50th Anniversary Barbie Dolls!

Hey guys! I'm back. It's been a while since I made posts on this blog. Remember that time in your childhood and Star Trek was the bomb and when you always wanted Star Trek Barbies instead of He-Man action figures? Well, guess what? Your childhood is finally in for a surprise.

To celebrate the series' 50th anniversary, Mattel is offering Barbie dolls of Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, and Lieutenant Uhura. Their faces look pretty detailed.

The original crew reunites in plastic!
But this isn't the first time they brought Star Trek to life as dolls.

Mego made a Star Trek playset in the mid-70's with pretty cool articulated dolls. And here are the times they brought the series into the Barbie world.

There was a Barbie and Ken gift set in 1996 to commemorate the show's 30th anniversary.

And they also did it again in 2009 with the release of the movie. Except Spock has real hair, all gelled up.

Also, in addition to the original series characters, a doll of Vina, the Orion slave girl will be dancing our way soon, as an SDCC exclusive.

They could be good friends for the 2013 Mars Explorer Barbie.

So, will you be buying those? Let us know in the comments!

XO,
Samantha
